Deerfield Beach, FL October 25, 2006 – Women may love
diamonds, jewelry and flowers, but none of them can hold a
candle to a pair of shoes.
The obsession women have for shoes shows no sign of waning.
In 2004, American women purchased 819 million pairs of
non-athletic shoes, according to the American Apparel and
Footwear Assoc. In Britain, a recent survey by fashion
magazine Harper’s Bazaar revealed one in four women would
forgo paying the bills for a pair of designer heels. |

The torrid affair between women and their shoes was one
of the catalysts for the inventor of Heelstraps, who
recently created a revolutionary device that provides

“Shoes have an incredible ‘Cinderella effect,’ ”
Harper’s Bazaar editor Lucy Yeoman told the London Daily
Mail in August. “They can transform not only an
outfit, but also a woman’s mood. In that sense,
shoes are rather magical.”
